Narrative

SPARTANBURG, SC – A fiery single-vehicle crash on I-26 claimed the life of a man from Woodruff on Monday evening.

The crash took place in the eastbound lanes of the interstate near the exit to Reidville Road at about 5 p.m.

Investigators say a dump truck crossed over to the westbound side and collided with a tree.

The victim, identified as 52-year-old Brian Scott Stankus of Woodruff, was pronounced dead at the scene.
