Narrative
BOILING SPRINGS, SC – A 45-year-old passenger died, and a driver went to the hospital following a single-vehicle accident along a roadway in north-central Spartanburg County.
The incident happened around 3:40 p.m. in the area of McMillin Boulevard and Cycle Drive, which is east of RI-9 and the Walmart Supercenter.
The investigation indicates that for unknown reasons, a southbound Ford SUV left the roadway and crashed into a pole.
Medics transported both the driver and passenger to the hospital. The passenger, identified as James Henry Hastings, died from injuries sustained in the accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
