CHESNEE, SC – Three people died, and one person went to the hospital after a single-vehicle accident along a state highway in Chesnee on Friday.
The incident happened around 3:38 p.m. near the intersection of Fairfield Road, or State Road S-42 187, and Henderson Road, or SC-11.
The investigation indicates that for unknown reasons, a driver lost control of their vehicle and crashed into a ditch several trees along the roadway.
The crash caused the car to ignite, killing all three passengers and injuring the driver.
