Narrative
SPARTANBURG CO., SC – One person died on Tuesday after a head-on collision involving a semi on a state highway in Spartanburg County.
The incident happened just after 4:30 p.m. on SC-101 near Century Place.
Police say that a northbound pickup truck entered the southbound lanes of the highway and collided head-on with an 18-wheeler, killing the wrong-way driver at the scene.
Authorities have not yet identified the victim, nor have they indicated what might have caused the victim to veer into oncoming traffic.
The driver of the semi did not sustained injuries in the accident.
