Narrative
NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – An Orangeburg man died Thursday when a vehicle struck him at a major intersection on the northwest side of Charleston.
The auto-pedestrian crash occurred around midnight at Otranto Road and Vistravia Road, which is west of US-78 and south of North Charleston Wannamaker County Park.
It’s not yet clear if the pedestrian was walking in a designated crosswalk when the accident happened. Authorities declared the victim deceased at the scene, identifying him as 25-year-old Jermaine Brown.
Officials say that the driver involved did not stop to render and to speak with police.
