Narrative
GASTON, SC – An SUV struck and killed a cyclist in southeastern Lexington County last Thursday afternoon, May 9th.
The incident happened around 2:20 p.m. on Woodtrail Drive (Secondary 663) near Sandy Oak Lane, which is in the town of Gaston.
Police say that for unknown reasons a southbound 2003 Toyota 4Runner struck a bicycle along Woodtrail Drive. The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation; it’s not yet clear which party caused the accident.
Medics transported the cyclist to the hospital, where they died from injuries sustained in the accident.
Authorities have not yet identified the victim.
The investigation is ongoing.
