Narrative
PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC – A two-vehicle crash involving a police cruiser injured an officer last weekend in east-Central Georgetown County.
The accident happened early Sunday, September 15th, along Highway 17 near Hagley Drive, which is in the city of Pawleys Island.
Authorities say that the driver of a 2020 Chevy Equinox neglected to yield the right of way and turned left in front of a police cruiser. The two vehicles collided, causing the cruiser to overturn along the side of the highway.
Medics transported the South Carolina State Trooper to the hospital with unknown injuries. The other driver was not hurt in the crash.
Officials cited the driver of the Chevy for failure to yield appropriately.
