Narrative
CHARLESTON CO., SC — One person died, and three people were hurt Wednesday in a wrong-way in east-central Charleston County.
The accident happened shortly after 2:30 p.m. along the Stono River Bridge between Johns Island and Charleston.
Police say that for unknown reasons, an eastbound car entered the westbound side of Maybank Highway and collided head-on with a westbound pickup truck.
The unrestrained driver of the sedan died at the scene after being thrown from their vehicle.
Medics transported three people from the pickup truck to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
