Narrative
NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – One person died Tuesday night after a vehicle struck them at a busy intersection in North Charleston.
The accident occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Ashley Phosphate Road and Tanglewood Drive, which is just northeast of Festival Centre shopping center.
Police say the victim was standing or walking on Ashley Phosphate Road when the westbound driver hit them. The pedestrian died after transport to an area hospital.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the name of the victim.
No charges have been discussed at this time.
