Narrative

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – Eight people went to the hospital Friday after a collision involving five vehicles along the interstate in North Charleston.

Crews reported to the scene during rush hour on I-526 northbound near the Don Holt Bridge, which connects Charleston with North Charleston.

It’s not yet clear what caused the accident. Police say they think it may have been a chain-reaction collision.

The eight victims were hospitalized with minor injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
