Narrative
LADSON, S.C. — A canceled police chase in Charleston County ended in a three-vehicle crash in Berkeley County on Thursday morning, sending four people to the hospital.
The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies spotted a car driving erratically on I-26 near Ashley Phosphate. After running the plates and discovering they did not match the vehicle, deputies initiated a pursuit but quickly canceled it due to high speeds.
Shortly after, a collision occurred on College Park Road just off I-26, involving three vehicles. The driver and passenger of the initially pursued vehicle, along with the drivers of the other two vehicles involved, were transported to Trident Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities have not yet announced if any charges will be filed in connection with the incident.
The crash remains under investigation.
