Narrative
CALHOUN CO., SC – One person died Saturday after a vehicle struck them along the highway in west-central Calhoun County.
The accident happened before 3 a.m. just northwest of St. Matthews on the westbound side of Old State Road, or US-176.
Police say the victim was walking westbound along the highway when a westbound 2013 Honda Accord struck and killed them.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.
The driver of the vehicle stopped to render aid and speak with police.
A full investigation is underway.
